We had a mom reach out wanting to join our Spanish Embrace Grace group at the last minute. We were already on week nine, and honestly, we thought, “If she comes, she comes.”
Well, she came. She even showed up early so she could make up some of the classes she had missed. During our Breaking Chains lesson, our Spanish group leader pulled her aside to talk with her more. She asked if she had ever received salvation before, and she said no. That day, for the very first time, she said yes to Jesus! It was also her first time ever stepping foot inside a church. She is from Cuba, and that same day, she received her very first Bible.
We almost didn’t let her join because it was so late in the semester, and I’m so grateful we said yes. What if we had missed the opportunity to love her, welcome her, and give her the chance to encounter Christ? It was such a beautiful reminder that sometimes one yes can change someone’s life forever.
