Nancy's Story

Before Embrace Grace and before finding out I was pregnant with my first child, I wasn't as close to God as I am now. I was shocked when I learned I was pregnant because doctors had told me it would be extremely difficult to conceive because of PCOS. I was overwhelmed with joy but also scared of what the future held. I moved from Maryland to Virginia, leaving behind my family, friends, job, and everything familiar. Adjusting to a new environment while becoming a first time mom was difficult, and I often felt alone.

That's when I found Embrace Grace through a Facebook post. There were only two moms in our group, but I looked forward to our meetings every Wednesday evening. It gave me the opportunity to connect with another mom while also finding my way back to Jesus. My leaders helped me regain my confidence and rebuild my relationship with God. I felt loved, and so did my daughter. Eventually, I became a member of the church and began attending Sunday services.

Hearing other women's testimonies and experiences helped me feel comfortable enough to share my own struggles and reminded me that I didn't have to face the difficulties of motherhood alone. Embrace Grace gave me a place to be honest about what I was feeling, taught me how to love myself and give myself grace, and most importantly, helped me reconnect with God. I am truly blessed to have found such a wonderful community.
