During the second week of our Embrace Grace semester, a young woman came because a friend who had previously completed the program encouraged her to give it a chance. She didn't want to come, but her friend promised she wouldn't be judged, only loved. Carrying years of deep trauma and instability, she arrived the first night in tears and shared with one of our leaders that she had been struggling with suicidal thoughts.
Week after week, she kept showing up. During the Perceive lesson, she became overwhelmed with emotion. After the meeting, two of our leaders sat with her as she shared her fears about becoming a mother and the pain of her past. She was terrified of raising her child in the same broken environment she had experienced.
That night, she surrendered her life to Christ. While she still has difficult obstacles ahead of her, she no longer walks through them alone. Watching God replace fear with hope and surround her with a community that loves and supports her has been one of the greatest reminders of why Embrace Grace exists.
