Lorrie's Story

My name is Lorrie, and I first heard about Embrace Grace through a pregnancy resource center. They asked if I would like to participate, and even though I was unsure, I agreed. To say I’m glad I did is an understatement.

Before starting Embrace Grace, I was unsure of everything. When it came to my pregnancy, I was hurting so much and was completely lost. I didn’t know what I was going to do. When the church called me about joining this program, I decided to attend. The first time I went, I couldn’t stop crying. I still had so many questions, but I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be.

I kept coming back, and class became something I looked forward to every week. It was something my soul needed. Each class made me feel a little better, a little stronger, and more confident and loved. I had support, and something I had lost the year before was slowly being restored.

From that first class to graduation, Embrace Grace gave me a community and a belief that I am incredibly grateful for. I no longer feel as broken as I did when I first walked through those doors. I feel whole. I don’t think I would be where I am today without Embrace Grace. Thankful is an understatement, but I will always be grateful for this program and the people who make it possible for women like me.
