Before joining Embrace Grace, my life revolved around working, raising my two daughters, and doing the things I loved, like building furniture and renovating homes. Then I found out I was pregnant during one of the hardest seasons of my life. With my youngest daughter's father suddenly out of the picture, I was left wondering how I was going to care for my children and what the future would hold. I felt ashamed of my circumstances and didn't know how to turn back to God.
A friend kept encouraging me to try Embrace Grace, even though I was hesitant to open up to people about everything I was carrying. Finally, I decided to go. From that first meeting, listening to the leaders share their own stories helped me realize I wasn't alone. For the first time in a long time, I felt safe enough to be honest without feeling judged. Embrace Grace reminded me of who I was and helped me see that God had not turned His back on me. One lesson that has stayed with me was comparing the negative things we tell ourselves with what God says about us. Writing down those truths and speaking them over my life changed the way I saw myself.
Learning to love myself changed the way I loved my children. I stopped believing I wasn't enough and started seeing myself the way God sees me. That gave me the confidence to pour into my kids in a new way and remind them that no matter what life brings, we can always trust God to carry us through. Embrace Grace helped me find hope again, and I'll always be grateful for how it changed both my life and my family.
