Before joining Embrace Grace, I felt like I had lost myself. After experiencing a miscarriage, I welcomed my daughter into the world and found myself trapped in an abusive relationship that left me isolated, exhausted, and struggling to hear God's voice. Then I found out I was pregnant again. My baby's due date was the same as the child I had previously lost, and I was carrying more than just a pregnancy. I was grieving, trying to protect my children, navigating the end of my relationship, and mourning the sudden loss of one of my closest childhood friends. I knew I needed help.
A friend connected me with a local pregnancy resource center, and that same evening I attended my first Embrace Grace meeting. Looking back, I know God's timing was perfect. Candi and Cindy welcomed me with so much compassion that I finally felt safe enough to let my guard down. Around the third meeting, everything I had been carrying came pouring out. They stayed after to listen, pray with me, and remind me that I wasn't alone. One guest speaker shared a story that mirrored my own so closely that I knew only God could have orchestrated that moment. Even though I already knew Jesus, I desperately needed the love, encouragement, and community that Embrace Grace provided.
My journey hasn't been easy. Since graduating from Embrace Grace, my children and I have even been displaced by an electrical fire. Yet my leaders still check on us and continue to remind me that we don't have to face life's challenges alone. My daughter, Mable Grace, carries the middle name of my dear friend who passed away, a reminder that God can bring blessing even through grief. Embrace Grace gave me hope, healing, and a community that continues to walk beside my family today.
