Before Embrace Grace, I wanted nothing to do with God. I had grown up knowing who He was, but after everything I had been through, I couldn't understand why He would allow so much pain in my life. I found myself questioning His love and slowly walked away from my relationship with Him. By the time I found out I was pregnant with my third child, I was just looking for resources to help me through another unexpected pregnancy.
A friend told me about a pregnancy resource center, and while looking through the information she brought home, I came across Embrace Grace. I'll admit, I only signed up because of the baby shower. I convinced myself I would go once, everyone would judge me, and I would never come back. Instead, I was met with kindness from the very first night. The leaders welcomed me with open arms, and as the weeks went on, I began to believe the truths they were teaching about God's love. For the first time in a long time, I truly encountered Him again. The baby shower was another reminder of that love. I had never experienced one with my first two children, so being celebrated in that way meant more than I could have imagined.
Embrace Grace reminded me that my worth isn't defined by my past or my circumstances. It gave me the confidence to believe that I can be everything my children need me to be. More importantly, it reconnected me with Jesus and gave me a community of women who continue to remind me that God is always with me. I came looking for help, but I left with something far greater: a renewed relationship with Christ and the assurance that I don't have to walk this journey by myself.
